Join Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple online for the Fall Nembutsu Seminar! This year's theme is "What is the Purpose of Buddhism?”
Event Summary:
In this talk, we will explore what the purpose of Buddhism, or religion for that matter, is trying to address. Is Buddhism about bettering the self? Is it a set of practices that provide a way of relaxing the mind? I aim to show that the real purpose of Buddhism is about the world of transcendence connecting to us, and affirming our place in the eternal now. This gives us an assurance and hope that enables us to live fully in our lives, with a deep sense of gratitude.
Note:
VBT sangha may join remotely via Zoom; however, this is a hybrid event taking place at the Seattle Betsuin. (English language session is 2:00-4:30pm. However, there is also an earlier Japanese language session available from 10:00-12:00pm.)
